Who Am I

β€œThe works that I create are mostly landscape or uncommon scenes that rely on different artistic principles to provoke reactions and from the viewer. Different imagery and subjects are derived from a number of inspirations that come from the subconscious. These images are usually unreal and sometimes absurd. By using this activation of the subconscious, my work brings an authentic display of my mind to the viewer.

My creative process is the crux of my work. Overall, the intention of my art is to stir up emotions such as happiness, peace, awe, and even confusion in the viewer. Employing certain color schemes, mark making, specific subjects, and narratives, my art prompts the viewer to take in all elements and analyze them critically. However, what is important about the process is that it is free flowing and organic. Most of my works have some type of starting point, but never a set end goal or expected composition. I rely on external forces and influences to continuously transform the art, until each work comes to a point that seems complete. This process creates a wide array of colors, marks, themes, and characters that are unique and help to influence the emotional and response from the viewer.

The style and expression of my art is based off the unconscious and something called Synesthesia. Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. In, simple terms, this allows for my creative process to tap into the part of the mind where dreamlike and unrealistic scenarios are made. Specifically, this works when I hear music or specific types of sounds. They create images, patterns, or colors in my head that become the general inspiration for my creative process. By using this aspect within the process, it illustrates what I want to accomplish, a point in time where an individual is captivated by the artwork so much that they experience a type of emotion that they usually, or perhaps never do. To give rise to thoughts and feelings that make people question life, society, morals, or even simpler topics, is a success with my work. Being able to make people critically think about broader topics just from looking at something that I created from my mind, and to see the reaction in their eyes and the kinks turning in their brain, that is the real goal of my art.”
